The challenge
The Bolette Dolphin drillship was fitted with a heavy-weather ROV launch and recovery system. Its hull-mounted guiderails needed to be raised clear of the water during transit to limit drag.
The design
AuraTech developed a transit restraint system to store the guiderails securely while retaining deck space.
The context
The system formed part of the vessel’s subsea operating equipment, connecting launch-and-recovery requirements with the practical constraints of vessel transit.
Historical case study, adapted from AuraTech’s original project account.
